VFX Breakdown: Day-to-Night Relighting & Integration

This shot demonstrates a complex VFX pipeline involving match-moving and environmental relighting. Starting with a live-action video plate, I utilized GLOMAP for precise camera tracking and point cloud generation to reconstruct the scene's geometry in 3D. To achieve the drastic atmospheric change, I employed a projection baking workflow (based on the InLightVFX/Ian Hubert technique). This involved projecting the original video texture onto the reconstructed geometry and baking it, which allowed me to completely relight the scene in Blender, transforming the original footage into a moody night sequence. Final compositing and color grading were executed in DaVinci Resolve.
